Trio Paradis (Jacquelyn Bevan - piano, Lisa Betteridge - violin and Linda Stocks - cello) play a monthly cafe concert on the last Friday of each month (except December) at 1pm at St John's Church Hall: informal community events with a pop-up café open from 12.15pm where you can meet friends and make new ones over tea/coffee and home-made cakes, and enjoy live music. It’s c£3.50 for a drink and a cake.
Our theme for September-October’s concerts is music by French composers, including Debussy, Ravel, Poulenc, Elizabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, Mel Bonis and Edith Piaf.
Concerts last c45mins and entrance - or rather, exit! - is by pay-what-you-feel donation, via a retiring collection. Refreshments - tea, coffee & home-made cakes - are available in the pop-up café 45 mins before the concert. There's no need to book, just turn up early for best choice of cakes, and to be sure of a table, as the concerts are popular.
